The VW Transporter range has evolved into a highly competent line-up of commercial vehicles. More than 8.5 million have rolled off the production line since their introduction and they compete well with the Ford Transit and Vauxhall Vivaro. The instruments are clear and easy to read and despite the fact that it’s a big van it doesn’t cumbersome around town. Little luxuries, like air conditioning, a large glove
box and oversized cup holders help make life on board much more comfortable.
The VW Crafter is an award winning joint development between Volkswagen and Daimler Chrysler, so it shares much with Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The bodies look identical from the sides and much of the interior is common with a number of other Mercedes-Benz models, which is no bad thing. The Crafter offers the best accommodation in its class as far as the cabin is concerned. A large glass area gives good visibility and the view to the rear is shown through double door mirrors.
All models come with a good level of standard equipment including electric windows and a stereo system.
