Volkswagen Van Leasing and Volkswagen Van Contract Hire

The VW Transporter range has evolved into a highly competent line-up of commercial vehicles. More than 8.5 million have rolled off the production line since their introduction and they compete well with the Ford Transit and Vauxhall Vivaro. The instruments are clear and easy to read and despite the fact that it’s a big van it doesn’t cumbersome around town. Little luxuries, like air conditioning, a large glove
box and oversized cup holders help make life on board much more comfortable.

The VW Crafter is an award winning joint development between Volkswagen and Daimler Chrysler, so it shares much with Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The bodies look identical from the sides and much of the interior is common with a number of other Mercedes-Benz models, which is no bad thing. The Crafter offers the best accommodation in its class as far as the cabin is concerned. A large glass area gives good visibility and the view to the rear is shown through double door mirrors.

All models come with a good level of standard equipment including electric windows and a stereo system.

History Of Volkswagen

Nearly eight decades after its foundation, the iconic VW brand continues to be the biggest selling of all the manufacturers operating under the Volkswagen Group umbrella. When you factor in that that group also includes such names as Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Ducati, Lamborghini and SEAT you begin to see just how much of a deal this really is.

Volkswagen has been producing automobiles since 1937 and was founded by the renowned Czech industrialist Ferdinand Porsche. Volkswagens early business model, and also its name, was derived from the “peoples car” project, a project undertaken by trade unionists in Nazi Germany that wanted to produce an affordable car for German workers whilst also increasing production and creating jobs.

Despite its dubious beginnings as part of Nazi Germanys commercial infrastructure, VW was kept alive after the war by the British Army who placed an order for 20,000 vehicles to help rebuild post-war Germany. The modern VW was born and the company never looked back.

These days Volkswagen is responsible for producing some of Europes best loved vehicles including the Volkswagen Golf and the Volkswagen Passat.

The companys range of light commercial vehicles has also proved popular, with LCVs such as the Volkswagen Caddy, the Volkswagen Transporter and Volkswagen Crafter providing van solutions across a wide range of vehicle classes.
