The Peugeot Partner is a mid-sized LCV produced by French automotive manufacturers Peugeot. The Partner made its first appearance in Peugeots showrooms back in 1997 and has been a popular choice with operators of light commercial vehicles ever since.
The versatile little vehicle remained almost unchanged for five years until an overhaul in 2002 revamped the Partner significantly. A single rear door was brought in to replace the double door that had had graced the rear of the original model, while the Partners front was completely remodelled, giving the vehicle a higher nose and a more raised front profile than had featured on the 1997 model.
The dimensions of the vehicle were also minutely changed, giving the Peugeot Partner a slightly shorter wheelbase but a slightly longer overall length. Peugeot also slightly increased the width and height of the vehicle, modifications that were carried over to the Partner mk.2 when it was unveiled in 2008.
In an unusual move, Peugeot opted not to render the original Partner vehicle obsolete, instead deciding to rebadged it as the Peugeot Origin and sell it alongside the Partner Mk.2 in several countries, including Britain. The two vehicles have remained available in the UK since the Mk.2s first appearance in May 2008 and annual sales of the Partner continue to exceed the 100,000 units mark despite a slump in recent years.
