The company draws heavily the Fiat Group, and in 1990, Iveco acquired 60% of ENASA, a leading truck manufacturer and makers of Pegaso brand of commercial vehicles in Spain. With this acquisition, Iveco expanded its manufacturing locations to Barcelona, Valladolid and Madrid to become a major European van maker.
1978 saw the launch of the Daily with the Turbo and the Turbostar following shortly afterwards to cement Iveco’s position in the European market. Iveco also remains a major European producer of fire-fighting vehicles.
