Fiat History
Fiat (from Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino) was founded in 1899 by a group of investors including Giovanni Agnelli.
Fiat has manufactured tanks and aircraft in its past and as of 2009, Fiat stood as one of the more financially stable carmakers in an uncertain global market. Fiat-based cars are made all around the world, in Brazil, Argentina and Poland to name just a few. At the same time as the Austin Mini, Volkswagen Beetle and Citroen 2CV were designed and built to give the man on the street access to wheels, Fiat launched the Fiat 500 in 1947.
Thanks to incredible design, this little runabout changed the way we think about cars and sold in massive numbers. That verve and sheer sense of style and practicality is carried through today in Fiat’s range of commercial vehicles.
